IC Background (In-Character Story): ShadowGate Solutions was born from the ashes of the Goon Squad, an off-the-books special operations unit led by Alfie, Zak, and Greg.
Originally mocked for their unconventional tactics, the “Goons” became infamous for completing missions no one else could touch.
After a final black-ops mission went sideways and higher-ups abandoned them, the trio returned home erased from official records. Betrayed by the system they served, they went independent — taking both state-sanctioned and underground contracts.
ShadowGate now operates as a covert network of ex-military and specialists, offering extraction, protection, smuggling, and “problem resolution” to those who can pay.
They work in the shadows, open gates others can’t, and close them for good when needed.
